Tea- Time Ajwain Cookies:

Make tea-time extra delicious with a perfect accompaniment that goes with all kinds of tea.

· Make a dough with all-purpose flour, melted butter, sugar and 2 to 3 tbsp of milk. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

· Flatten the dough on a flat surface. Use a cookie cutter or bottle cap to cut out cookie pieces on the dough.

· Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C. Place the cookie tray in the oven and bake it for 10 minutes at 180oC.

· Make sure the cookies are golden brown in color before taking it out.

· Enjoy your home made tea time snack whenever you like.


Savory Ajwain Sticks

· Mix the carom seeds/ajwain, powder sugar, and salt together. Cream the butter and the powdered mix together, until the mixture turns light and fluffy.

· Sift the whole wheat flour and add to the creamed butter. Combine well and knead into a soft dough.

· Take a lemon-sized ball of the dough and roll it into a thin cylinder on a lightly dusted surface. Repeat the procedure with the rest of the dough. Cut each dough stick as required.

· Arrange in a flat air-tight container and refrigerate for 20 mins. Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees C for 10 mins. On a greased and lined baking tray carefully arrange the ajwain sticks.

· Bake at 150 degrees for 10 mins [ until the lower edges just start to brown].

· Cool for 5 mins and carefully turn them over. Bake the other side at 150 degrees for 5 mins.

· Allow to cool completely and store in an air tight jar. Enjoy it with your warm bowl of soup.


Black pepper and Ajwain Tonic:

Black pepper and ajwain tonic, a soothing concoction that is great for promoting digestion and boosting health.

· Take a cup of water in a pot and add 1 tsp of Ajwain seeds, 1tsp black pepper powder, and ½ tsp minced ginger root, by Pride of India. Bring it to boil.

· Let the mixture steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
