Hot London Fog: An Elegant Earl Grey Tea Latte Recipe

This  recipe will guide you through making a classic London Fog drink that's rich in bergamot notes from Earl Grey black loose leaf tea, softened by steamed milk, and subtly sweetened with vanilla.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pride of India’s Earl Grey Black tea bag

  • 0.5 cup hot water

  • 0.5  cup milk of your choice (whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, soy milk all work well)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener of choice (sugar, honey, maple syrup)

Directions

  1. Place the Earl Grey Black tea bag (or loose leaf tea bag) into your mug. Pour the hot water over the tea. Let it steep for 4-5 mins, depending on your desired strength.

  2. While the tea is steeping, gently heat the milk in a small saucepan until hot and steamy, but not boiling. Alternatively, use a milk frother to froth your milk until it's velvety and has a good foam.

  3. Remove the tea bag from your mug. Stir in the vanilla extract and sweetener until dissolved.

  4. Pour the hot, steamed milk over the steeped tea. If you've frothed the milk, you can spoon the foam on top.

  5. Optional: Garnish with a sprinkle of culinary lavender bud, a thin orange peel, or a dash of cinnamon for an extra touch of elegance and flavor.
